In a world dominated by style over substance, it is refreshing to find artists that are not looking to get a foot on the celebrity fast-track but have a real passion for the craft of song writing, Billyjon is such a person.
Having been driven from an early age to express himself in words and then learning to fashion songs on his brothers guitar, he has propelled himself via open mic nights to gig...s in his own right both on the West Country circuit as well as better known venues such as The Clapham Grand, The Sound Café and Bush Hall. He has also gone onto support Mumford & Sons, Johnny Flynn and Mark Morris of The Bluetones.
Musically BillyJon portrays a personal honesty built from real life thoughts and emotions in his songs, driven on by a bright acoustic sound and an approachable style which audiences find immediately accessible.

GAVIN BUTLER (Vocalist of THE BLACKOUT)
THE BLACKOUT are known around the world for their energetic shows, rock anthems while giving a big "F*** YOU" to anyone who doubts their talents, instead tonight we see the more majestic side of these screamo kings. Gavin Butler on his down time is travelling all the way from his home town of Merthyr Tydfil (Wales) for this one off show and we are priviledged to have him in the middle of such an amazing night! After his last show that left us begging for more at The Vic over a year ago, and returning to 12 Bar after selling the same venue out a little over two years ago with The Blackout this will be distinct change from his usual outtings.
Who knows whats in store? A cover or two? A tune from his band thrown in? A guest apperance? We ourselves aren't sure, what we are sure of however is that this will be another epic performance by the experienced front-man!

JIM LOCKEY & THE SOLEMN SUN

Just signed to Xtra Mile Recordings (home of Frank Turner, Against Me! etc)! Anarcho-anglo storytellers JL&tSS deliver their blend of country-folk/punk - the most energetic, poetic and engaging British folk music in the UK today. In two short years the band have incessantly toured the country playing alongside the likes of Mumford & Sons, Frank Turner, Dry the River, Johnny Flynn, Alessi’s Ark and Pete Doherty amongst many others, their visceral approach to live performanc...e often takes them from the stage into the crowd for intimate singalong moments, impressing crowds everywhere they go. In mid 2010 they released debut album ‘Atlases’ (produced by MPG Engineer of the year and double Gammy nominated producer James Towler) through istartedthefire records to critical acclaim and airplay from Steve Lamacq on Radio 2, Kerrang Radio and BBC Introducing – including being named BBC Gloucestershire Introducing’s ‘Band of 2010’. During the summer they performed at major and independent festivals such as Big Chill, Wychwood and Y-Not, including one of the highest attended perfomances on the second stage at 2000 Trees Festival last summer alongside Goldheart Assembly, The Subways and more and have just returned from a stint as main support for Frank Turners Sold Out UK tour including an NME Awards showcase.
The young quintet draw influence from a plethora of alt. country folk artists and hardcore punk bands alike, opting to mould these influences with a strong political ethic and a ‘play-til-you’re-dead’ attitude to live performance to create an innovative and arresting sound, crammed with hook -filled soaring harmonies, country/punk rhythms and passionately honest lyrics - often likened to Bright Eyes, Frank Turner and Billy Bragg.

Rhiannon a 16 year old female singer-songwriter from Swindon, stunned us at a local Open Mic night, so much so we got her on the first suitable show possible, we believe this girl has a great future, with the voice of an angel and songs fitting to any teenager, her songs are sung from the heart and with pure honesty, something that is all to rare at the minute. Already having supported Buswell (3rd November) we are place our faith in this local lady to open what is sure to be a fantastic night, and we are guaranteed great things from this rising star!
