Nightvision · Dead By Friday

Nightvision ·
Dead By Friday

Thursday 23 June 2011 - 20:00

Nightvision are an incredibly talented and exciting young British 4-piece hard rock band from Lincolnshire, who having released their irresistible tour de force debut album 'As The Lights Go Down' on Rocksector Records in 2009 have continued their steady rise through the ranks of the modern generation of British original heavy rock/metal bands.

Nightvision was originally formed in 2003 but the definitive line up came together in 2006 with the arrival of extrovert lead vocalist Dave McKee joining guitarist Bolda and brothers Daryl and Dean Hocking on drums and bass guitar. The four musicians gelled instantly and soon assumed an enviable group consciousness, honing down their craft by extensive gigging across the UK and supporting the likes of Diamond Head, Fozzy and Blaze Bayley.

Since the release of their debut album which received rave reviews, 2009 saw Nightvision featured with a half-page spread in Metal Hammer - a two page feature in Powerplay - Touring the length of the UK and culminating in an incredible headline performance at Camden's Purple Turtle. Radio coverage has also been strong with Bruce Dickinson playing & praising the band on BBC6, plus coverage on Rock Radio Manchester 106.1, Total Rock, Planet Rock, Hard Rock Radio Live & more. Little wonder the band has a burgeoning fanbase of rock & metal devotees.

2010 saw them nominated as one the UK top six ‘New Bands’ in the prestigious Pure Rawk awards - Completing a series of main tour support slots with ex Iron Maiden front man Blaze Bayley - their first venture into Europe with a festival slot at Wizzfest in Belgium – A support slot in London with American rock stars Fozzy fronted by WWE wrestling superstar Chris Jericho – Over 60 gigs including many headline and high profile slots at venues and festivals across the UK.

2011 promises to be even more exciting because at last Nightvision's eagerly awaited second album, to be titled, 'Set The Road On Fire', is planned for release on 19th September 2011 on the Rocksector Records label. Recording will begin in May at Axis Studios – Doncaster and Nightvision are really excited to be working again with amazing Producer and Recording Engineer Matt Elliss (GU Medicine, Black Spiders, Louise, The Glitterati and many others)

The album release will be supported by a music video featuring one of the album tracks, still to be selected, and targeted to be on-air on music channels such as Scuzz and Lava around late August.

This year has already seen Nightvision back in Belgium with a fantastic set in front of a capacity crowd at Wizzfest in March and a with a high profile return invite to SOS festival in Greater Manchester in July. With a UK headline tour supporting the release of the new album 'Set The road On Fire' to be announced Nightvision are looking forward to writing the next chapter in their history.

HELLO LAZARUS
Hello Lazarus are a three-piece alternative rock band from Bristol UK that have been described by online journal live music scene as "An impressive look into the soul of indie rock."
Currently playing in venues across the UK, Hello Lazarus are fighting for the exposure that will allow them to build a fan base as big as their sound. Following the successful online free release of single “Ladies Love Liars”, HL are now promoting their upcoming mini-album release "All Alliteration"; thirty minutes and seven tracks of hard-hitting but melodic alternative rock. Set for a digital and physical release on the 12th of March to coincide with a headline show at The Louisiana in Bristol.
The trio formed from the embers of previous projects and have been quick to adapt to the dynamics of a 3-piece; streamlining their sound but refusing to compromise on their ethic and ideas. Having shared the stage with acts such as Vessels & Flood of Red, Luke (Guitar/Lead Vocals), Adam (Bass/Vocals) and Sean (Drums/Vocals) have also received a host of critical acclaim for debut release "Ladies Love Liars" including statement from Tasty Fanzine insisting; "Love the band name, love the song title and love the track."
The varied and dynamic release that is "All Alliteration", coupled with Hello Lazarus' energetic stage show is a statement of intent that all this is part of a longer term plan to push through to that next stage; touring not just across the UK but to further shores, taking their unique brand of sonic pleasure further a field and invading and capturing the hearts and minds of the many that will spend time with them on the way.
Still gigging, writing and recording HL are working hard to ensure that they can live up to the billing given to them by Music Review Unsigned: "These guys have hot written all over them."

WE CAUGHT THE CASTLE
We Caught The Castle are a five piece pop-punk/rock band from Reading, and are all aged 18/19. The band is made up of Hollie Cobb- vocals, Simon Jackman - guitar and vocals, Joe Sellers- guitar, Robbie Everett- Bass and vocals, and Zak Watson- Drums.
The band formed in late 2009 and have since recorded their debut EP at Outhouse Studios, and have played with the like of Don Broco, Lower Than Atlantis and Attack! Attack!, at venues such as Oxford Academy, Birmingham Asylum, and Camden Barfly.
"Hailing from Reading, female-fronted quintet We Caught the Castle release their self-titled debut EP. Immediately you should dispel any preconceptions that you may have formed; We Caught the Castle are far edgier than the likes of Hey Monday and more soulful than that Tennessee band (led by a certain fiery redhead) that everyone has suddenly become infatuated with. During their introductory three track opus, the British five-piece display impressive versatility, exhibiting a sound that fuses pop-punk and hardcore. We Caught the Castle may have only formed in 2009, but the band have matured impressively and clearly have a great future ahead of them. It would be a tragic shame if they ever get branded a Paramore-wannabe act, because We Caught the Castle are anything but." James Stant, Room 13 online magazine.
