"Something of a coup hits The 12 Bar on Friday in the form of The Jay
Tamkin Band. Already being compared to Stevie Ray Vaughan, this is
blues-rock but cleverly tempered with lilting funk, acoustic
instrumentals, gipsy jazz and anything that takes their fancy. Being hailed as a band that are making blues exciting again, anyone with a penchant for the genre should check this out." ~ Dave Franklin, Sounds Around Town
Jay learned his craft with Devon Youth Jazz Orchestra, playing with many jazz greats such as.. Jools Hollands band members Dennis Rollins and Pete Long plus jazz greats Stan Sulzmann and Ben Clatworthy.

PANIC ROOM are a UK rock band who have already been dubbed 'a minor supergroup'. (Classic Rock Magazine)
In their short time together, the band has recorded 2 critically-acclaimed studio albums, and toured the length of the UK playing to thousands of devoted fans.
PANIC ROOM blaze together a fusion of rock, pop, indie, funk & hypnotic sounds, to unleash a fire of 'mesmerising' music.
Their 2008 debut 'Visionary Position' was 'extraordinary' - brave, beautiful, eclectic, and totally compelling.
They first hit the stage in 2008 to tour this album, storming the boards with their epic songs and riffs. Each of the 5 members being world-class musicians, they showed fearless creativity & awesome playing.
But fronted by 'stellar' frontwoman Anne-Marie Helder, above all PANIC ROOM are enchanting with their passion & power.
*** In 2009, the Panics were voted 'BEST NEW BAND' at the British CRS Awards.***
'SATELLITE' (2010)
For their 2nd release, the band wanted to capture their Live energy, raw and powerful, so they recorded over an intense 2-week period at Sonic One Studios (Llangennech, Wales).
Under the expert eye of master engineer Tim Hamill, they created a 'mammoth' album of dramatic, hooky songs, both edgy and other-wordly, and in doing so shot their trademark sound to a whole new level.
'Satellite' (2010, Firefly Music) has been a huge hit, with winning reviews from the music press and public, & its stunning title track being voted 'Song of the Year' on various fan-sites.
The 2010 'Satellite' Tour to promote the album included momentous gigs at Shepherds Bush Empire, and opening for 'space-rock' legends Hawkwind at St David's Hall, Cardiff.
~ 2011 sees Panic Room working on their 3rd album, and touring internationally.

RICHARD PARKER Leeds Outfit, Richard Parker, are venturing out on their Second UK Tour
and gracing Swindon with their Instrumental, post-rock perfection. This
is not to be missed!
Since releasing their definitive Debut E.P. in November 2010 these guys
have not hung around. Playing relentlessly in and around Leeds and UK
they have proved themselves to be one of the most hard working and
passionate bands out there... expect great things from these boys!
"...easing you into a false sense of Explosions in the Sky style
post-rock security before throwing a curveball and dialing up the tempo
before you've even realised what's hit you" - Hairy Wolf Records
FOR FANS OF: Mogwai, Explosions in the sky, Thrice, This will destroy you.
SHRINE Great new local band bringing us some awesome Psychedelia & Hard rock.
IX Another great local band fresh on the scene. This will be their first
show and from the one demo I've heard I'm excited to hear what they've
got for us.
Holy Stain take the baton and run sideways in two directions: on one
hand a noisier prospect, with more distortion, on the other a band not
afraid of repetition and veering into the krautrock territory.

'A raucous gaze at the shoe in a psychedelic garage'

Bands
this age aren't meant to sound like this. Holy Stain take their
influences and tear them apart until you don't know what the hell you
are dealing with. Gargantuan guitars, seductive basslines and hide and
seek vocals all come out to play, inviting you to be part of the twisted
fun. Bands aren't meant to sound like this to people of most ages, but
by listening to these songs you are being lavished with the most
exciting sounds you will hear all year. IT'S YOUR REWARD.

Also Eden are a 5-piece based around the Severn estuary, generally classified as progressive, but incorporating a variety of influences.
2010 saw the nucleus of Simon Rogers (guitar), Ian Hodson (keys) and Steve Dunn (bass) joined by Rich Harding on vocals, giving the band new energy and direction, as heard on the well-received Differences As Light EP. Drummer Lee Nicholas completes the current lineup, who will be showcasing their third album, "Think of the Children", which will be released in October, and available at the gig.
Morpheus Rising The NWoBHM era was a golden age in British music. Bands like Iron Maiden, Saxon, Def Leppard, Tygers of Pan Tang, Diamond Head and Samson ruled the world.
We grew up with these guys, they taught us to play, they taught us to write music.
MORPHEUS RISING takes all the best bits of NWoBHM - twin guitars and soaring vocals; adds a splash of extra ingredients such as the darker edge of Goth bands like The Cult and The Mission; the raw energy of Classic Rock icons like Led Zeppelin and AC/DC; plus just a twist of more melodic acts such as Marillion and Magnum. We are The Next Generation... NWoBHM-TNG!!
